Phone Call Action

The Phone Call action is used to initiate a phone call to a designated recipient when the defined event occurs. You can define the recipients and message delivered in the phone call. The MC for Phone/SMS service must be installed to use this feature.

Define the settings for the text:

  1. Select the Phone Call check box.

  2. Use the Phone Call tabs as described below:

    • Event Recipients: This tab lets you to specify the roles associated with the affected record that should receive the call.

For example, a Shop Supervisor might be designated to receive a phone call for a rule associated with the shut down of an asset. Or, the Assigned Labor on a work order might be designated to receive a call when a work order is issued.

To receive a call, Event Recipients must have a valid phone number populated into the record. The Mobile Phone Number field is used for Labor records.

    • Recipients: This tab lets you to specify individual phone numbers that should receive the call. To add a recipient, enter the 10 digit phone number. If multiple numbers are to be entered, separate them with a comma or semi-colon.

    • Message: This tab is used to create the message that should be spoken to the recipient. Since the message will be spoken exactly as specified, abbreviations should be avoided.

The Maintenance Connection Service Agent is required for Rules that include Email, Text Message, Phone Call, and Database Script actions.
